Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra secured second place in the men's javelin throw event at the Diamond League 2023  

Final in Eugene, Oregon, achieving a best effort of 83.80m on Saturday. 

Last year, Neeraj Chopra made history as the first Indian to clinch a Diamond League Trophy 

However, he was unable to defend his title at Hayward Field this year 

Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic, the Diamond League champion in 2016 and 2017, won his third title with a best throw of 84.24m. 

None of the competitors were able to surpass the 85m mark in Eugene. 

The reigning Olympic and world champion, Neeraj Chopra, had a foul on his first attempt.
